Customers are entitled for Stata's warranty clause only if they register their Stata software with Stata. The text of warranty clause is as under.
"The only warranty StataCorp makes is that the media on which the software is recorded will be replaced without charge if StataCorp determines that the media was defective and not subject to misuse, and if returned to StataCorp or the dealer from whom the software was purchased within 30 days of purchase.
StataCorp makes no other warranty, either expressed or implied, and StataCorp shall not be liable for warranties of fitness of purpose or merchantability, nor for special, incidental, or consequential damages such as loss of profits or inability to use the software.
The remedy for beach of this warranty shall be limited to replacement of the media and shall not encompass any other damages". |
